Precious metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, copper, or titanium should be welded with inert gases. Here, the gas cannot react with the weld metal, protecting the welding process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An active gas such as CO2 takes part in the reaction and thus influences the final result. This is desirable in some cases, such as <\/span><b>welding of alloyed or non-alloyed steel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where the CO2 used in MAG welding has a stabilizing effect on the arc.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What is WIG\/TIG welding?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike MIG welding, TIG\/TIG welding uses an electrode made of wolfram, which <\/span><b>does not melt during welding due to its high melting point<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Filler material is therefore added with an additional wire. Compared to MIG welding, TIG welding is more <\/span><b>precise and controlled<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shielding gases or gas mixtures that influence the reaction can also be used, but this would then be WAG\/TAG welding. For example, a small amount of oxygen can improve the quality of the welds.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/b1rV4H6eYLw?si=xE2Q1wS8XuKLsUfP\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Advantages of gas shielded welding methods<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MIG\/MAG and TIG\/TIG welding can be used as desired when welding by hand or when <\/span><b>automated by robots<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
